It is significant to note that Greg Hardy talks about his paintings as descriptions of moments. Like any good description, or telling of a story to someone who wasn't there, Hardy's paintings have an expressive language comprised of brush strokes and colour. He accentuates the experience of what it was to be there and in doing so creates a new experience altogether; one that references what you see in a grand landscape under the sky, but offers a feeling of drama and excitement that emanates from the paint. Hardy's paintings have been collected extensively for the past 30 years by public and private entities across North America, including The Canada Council Art Bank (Ottawa), Cenovus Energy (Calgary), Mendel Art Gallery (Saskatoon), Edmonton Art Gallery, Confederation Centre of the Arts (Charlottetown) and the Saskatchewan Art Board. This is his second exhibition with Gallery Jones.
